started and ended, name and address of the school, the course
taken, qualification, degree or certificate awarded for the course.

provide financial support. E.g. parents are supporting your
tuition fees, and your aunts who live in Toronto will provide
accommodation for free)

❖ DO NOT lie or provide false information in documents
❖ Your family background and history
❖ Informal language or wordings and repetition of words or phrases
❖ Irrelevant info
❖ Don’t make vague statements and give demonstrative examples of
professional competence and academic brilliance.

Common Mistakes (can lead to rejection)
❖ Copying from online or a friend (same officers from Hong Kong
office, they have viewed many letter of explanation)
❖ False statement or inaccurate information, forged documents or
signatures
